The Arab world was known for its outlandish love for cars, nothing short of V8s and V12s or even W16s for that matter. However, it came as a striking surprise when the entrepreneurs at W Motors decided to give the world its first Arab supercar. Crazy much? Yes, it was, the Lykan Hypersport with a price tag of $3.4 million and a handful on sale with diamond encrusted details justifying the hyper price tag. However, it seems W Motors has ended its production run for the Lykan, as a more appreciable, attainable and closely powerful Fenyr Supersport is here to take the Arab legacy forward.
Razor sharp, with inspiration having seemed to come from a jet fighter, the Fenyr Supersport is clearly cut from the same cloth as the Lykan. The front looks similar to its ostentatiously priced sibling and gets all things supercar-ish with the sharp lines, accentuated wheel arches and a mid-mounted engine. We particularly like those alloy wheels that easily grab most attention on this Arab package. Having said that, what you don’t get this time are the diamond encrusted headlights among other similar enchantments. It will still be pretty exclusive by all means necessary.
The new Fenyr Supersport uses a twin-turbo 4.0-litre Porsche RUF flat-six engine that gushes out power starting from 900 HP and 1200 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed double clutch gearbox. So, we can expect several power output options exceeding to over 1000 HP or possibly more. The Middle East based automaker claims that the Fenyr can do the 0-100 kmph run in 2.7 seconds while the top speed exceeds 400 kmph. The Supersport is based on a lightweight aluminium chassis with a carbon fibre bodywork.
W Motors hasn’t revealed the interior on the Fenyr yet and the company is also keeping mum on the pricing. The automaker did convey that only 25 examples of the Supersport will ever be produced which makes a tad bit less exclusive than the Lykan Hypersport with just 7 units on sale (obviously not counting the replicas built for Furious 7). Previous reports have suggested that the W Motors will be pegging the Fenyr Supersport at a price tag of around $1.6 million (or Rs. 10.57 crores), making it still pretty much unattainable. We also hear a track only version of this mad beast is under works.
But does this one fly through skyscrapers? Maybe, just maybe!
