    The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Coupe is an ultra-luxurious land-yacht

    By Augustine Morris | News | 0 comment | 28 August, 2016 | 2

The Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Coupe is a decadent red yacht that is pure German grandeur.

The Pebble Beach Motor show is the ultimate elite car show that brings in the rich and famous from the world over. It is a marvellous show of the most special and expensive automotive machinery across several generations. Fitting place then for the Mercedes-Maybach union to unveil its uber-luxurious Vision 6 coupe concept to the world.

The Vision 6 is a large red chariot that sits low on its humungous 24-inch rims. It is over 6 meters in length and spans more than a Rolls-Royce Phantom LWB. The silhouette of this coupe is beautiful and features a long bonnet that culminates at a low raked windshield. The roofline is swooping and flows low to a tapering tail end that is fabulous to behold. The ultra-thin tail lamps and headlamps complement the techno-luxury look. The rear hips are wide and offer a rather seductive charm to this gorgeous concept.

There are no ugly outward aero elements and down force wasn’t even considered in the design process, and that is a very good thing indeed. The Vision 6 as a result has an organic design that truly stands out. The ultra slim double rear windows are simply charming and give the Vision 6 a very retro coach look. The large stately grill adds to this aristocratic charm.

The design language on this concept is highly intelligent and simplistic in its nature. Mercedes says it perfectly embodies and encompasses the sensuality purity of their design and the aerodynamic efficiency. Stunningly pretty, the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 coupe is also highly functional and technologically loaded.

Powering the Vision 6 won’t be a conventional petrol mill, instead, this behemoth would be whisked about with the help of 4 synchronous electric motors. Together the electric drivetrain will produce a wholesome 750 HP that should make the Vision 6 brisk. Expect to see quick-charge capabilities and a claimed range of 321 km. The Vision 6 is definitely embracing the future in style.

To enter this beautiful yacht one must access its large gull-wing doors, because gull-wing doors will always be cool. The interior space is like a large lounge that features sofas and spectacularly lit up HUD. There are retro touches in here as well with the classic old-fashion steering wheel and minimal instrument cluster.

The Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 is an opulent luxury coupe that is dripping in technology. It is a decadent excess for the wealthiest of the wealthy. Like the Rolls Royce Vision Next, this new car hopes to pave the way to the next millennium. Unlike the Rolls Royce though, the Maybach hasn’t lost touch with its traditional roots and isn’t completely alien in design. Even the rich folks enjoy an occasional throwback.
