Mercedes-Maybach has been working on a decadent Coupe, and the world is out of breath.
The Mercedes-Maybach union has brought forth an absolutely marvellous and opulent coupe concept. There is no other brand on this earth audacious enough to build a 6 meter long two door coupe. The new concept is a true chariot of luxury, a decadent excess. At this point, we don’t have a name for this machine, but we do know that it will be making a very special appearance at the Pebble Beach Motor show next week.
The teaser image tells us that the new concept isn’t just an elongated S-coupe. It is a bespoke land-yacht with a beautifully sculpted body. The new concept is the same length as an extended-wheelbase Rolls-Royce Phantom. This should give you an idea of how the swagger this new car would generate. And unlike the Rolls, the Maybach looks lower and more streamlined.
Powering the concept would probably be the 6.0-litre bi-turbo V12 that is featured in the S600L. The V12 is good for 523 HP and should make sure that the new Maybach is brisk. We don’t expect mind-boggling performance figures from this stately chariot but we assure this new car will be anything but slow.
The images reveal a low slung and almost fastback roofline that seamlessly integrates with a ridiculously long front bonnet. The silhouette is a perfect mix of retro and modern design elements and we are truly enchanted. If Maybachs of the past are to be used as a reference, this new car could very well be the epitome of luxury and exclusivity in this highly competitive automobile world.
Mercedes-Maybach have built this new concept to take on the likes of the Rolls-Royce Wraith and the Continental GT, a stately GT coupe that satisfies the taste of even the most discerning customers. We highly look forward to the Pebble Beach show where this beauty would be unveiled. Expect a full update on the unveiling of this gorgeous creature.
