Mercedes-Benz will be expanding its AMG lineup in India with a host of models planned for 2015. The German auto giant has already launched six models in the year 2015 and six more models are expected to be introduced by this year’s end. The latest model coming to the Indian shores from the AMG stable will be the C450 AMG Sport. Mercedes already sells the CLA 45 AMG at the base of the AMG lineup while the C63 AMG has been the most affordable AMG sedan to come from Affalterbach house. The new C450 AMG Sport will be placed between CLA 45 and C63 AMG.
The Mercedes C450 AMG Sport is expected to come equipped with a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 petrol motor which churns out 362 bhp and a whopping 518 Nm torque. It will get the AMG-tweaked 4Matic four-wheel drive system and 7G-Tronic seven-speed automatic gearbox to do the job of exhilarating you. The C450 AMG Sport can hit the 0-100kph mark in 4.9 seconds flat. The electronic top speed is limited to 250 kph, while the C 450 AMG Sport’s braking is taken care by ventilated steel disc brakes measuring 360 mm at the front and 320 mm at the rear.
Talking about its exteriors, the C450 AMG gets its pumped up looks from a revamped new front bumper along with a new grille, a boot-lip spoiler, dark colored exhausts and ORVM’s. The car has several pointers that remind you of the heavenly made C 63. This beast has its heart at the front (just like most other AMG’s) and the power is divided in a proportion of 67 percent to the rear and remaining 33 to the front. The C450 AMG Sport has got some cool parts from its siblings such as the electromechanical steering, front axle, and an upgraded brake system. One thing which we’ll be missing in this package, is the carbon ceramic brakes that we see in the C 63 S.
The options for driver mode settings would have Eco, Comfort, Sport or Sport Plus. These modes will take care of the suspension stiffness, steering effort and throttle responses. Overall, the car looks like a complete package for the ones who can’t reach the C 63 mark. It is expected to be available in India with a price tag of approximately 1 crore.
