Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder is the soft-top version of the successful supercar Huracan LP 610-4 Coupe, and was launched in India today at a mind-boggling price of Rs. 3.89 crore (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The car was previously unveiled to the world at an event in New York a couple of months ago. We’re pleasantly surprised that the Italian manufacturer has decided to launch this monster in India so soon after its global launch. We’re certainly not complaining, though!
The coupe variant of the Huracan, on which the Spyder is based, was launched in 2014 as a replacement to the popular Gallardo and has been a huge success. Why, you wonder? Just take a peek at what the car packs under the hood. The Spyder is powered by the same naturally aspirated 5.2 litre V10 engine of the Huracan LP 610-4 coupe, that churns out a mammoth power of 610 HP and 560 Nm of torque. This beast of an engine comes mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The car is offered in 3 driving modes – Strada, Sport and Corsa, which respectively mean Street, Sport and Race in Italian. The Spyder boasts a top speed of 324 kmph, and accelerates from standstill to 100 kmph in a mere 3.4 seconds. Even though this seems ridiculously fast, the coupe variant does the same in 3.2 seconds. Holy smokes!
The Huracan Spyder features the same design and structure as the Huracan LP 610-4 Coupe, with a notable difference being the open roof. You have the luxury of choosing soft-top roof in black, red and brown colors. Even if the car is sprinting at speeds of up to 50 kmph, the hydraulically controlled soft-top can be lowered in 17 seconds. The soft-roof is made of fabric and a lot of attention has went into it to ensure that it aids noise absorption and provides better stability. That’s engineering for you, folks!
The Spyder gains around 90 kgs in weight, which can be partly attributed to the two fins that rise from the rear of the seats when the roof is folded down, in order to help the airflow and improve aerodynamics. Get this – The car comes with a grand total of whopping 30,000 customization options! Overall, the car looks extremely sporty, and will definitely tug at the heartstrings of the elite car enthusiasts in India, especially those who prefer a little wind in their hair.
The launch of the car took place at Lamborghini’s new dealership in Mumbai, which was also inaugurated at the same time. Extremely powerful and incredibly stunning, the Huracan Spyder is here to steal your hearts!
