Capable of accelerating to 322 kmph, the new F-Type SVR is the first Jaguar to wear the explosive SVR badge. This badge tells us that the machine is developed to exploit a supercar’s full potential, while retaining its day-to-day usability.
John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations says, “The result is a 200mph, all-weather supercar that you can drive every day – we even made a Convertible version so that enthusiasts can revel in the sound from the new titanium exhaust system.” Now that’s what we’re talking about.
The new 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR will make its global debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show on March 1st, 2016 and will go on sale this summer. It is going to be Jaguar’s big moment at Geneva – the SVR, the most hardcore F-Type we’ve seen till date. It’s time to move Jaguar’s F-type SVR fettled rage monster from the “Could be done” camp to “It’s officially happening!”
The exhaust note is beautifully revealed in the teaser, but more specifications surrounding the F-Type SVR’s powertrain, suspension, chassis upgrades, and pricing won’t be released until later in February; but we can expect a good bump in horsepower, torque and beefing up of the F-Type’s brakes and aerodynamics for its 322 kmph crusade.
Since 2013, when the F-Type was launched, we saw subsequent launches of the V6, V8 Convertibles and then the gorgeous Coupe. But some of that magic went with the Coupe as many of the people who bought the hard top complained that rear visibility and interiors were not up to the mark. Also, the major cancellation of the glorious F-Type exhaust bark could not be heard. Bummer! But rest assured, with the SVR, Jaguar has addressed all prayers of its fan base. Less visibility and no wind in the hair? You can have it as a convertible! Or, if you like a roof over your head but also a deafening amount of noise, the SVR is available as a Coupe too. All in all, this car is going to be big WOW!!! moment for the driver. It’s faster, louder, angrier and better in every possible way.
The new F-TYPE SVR will join the 2017 Model Year F-TYPE Coupe and Convertible range comprising of the F-TYPE, F-TYPE Premium, F-TYPE S, F-TYPE British Design Edition and F-TYPE R. March 1st can’t come soon enough!
