The Legendary Ford Mustang launched in India at Rs. 65 Lakhs

    By Augustine Morris | News | 0 comment | 12 July, 2016 | 0

Ford has launched their top of the line Mustang GT Fastback in India and it is powered by a massive 5.0-litre V8.

The Ford Mustang is one of the most iconic muscle cars to be built on American shores. Born in 1964, the Mustang has a rich and charismatic heritage. The 2016 iteration of the Mustang is a very important car, since this would be the first pony to be built in a Right-hand-drive format as well. This makes the new Mustang a prime target for the UK and Indian markets. Launched in India today at the Buddh International Circuit, we bring you the highlights of the brand new Ford Mustang GT.

Ford is offering the top of the line 5.0-litre V8 GT Fastback at Rs. 65 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for its Indian customers. It packs a healthy 395 HP and 515 Nm of torque. The Mustang will feature a six-speed auto box that offers paddle shifters. There’s also a set of Drive Modes that adjusts the characteristics of the car for different conditions, a useful tool for the Indian enthusiast. The new Mustang also features an Independent Rear Suspension, that should help a lot in the ride quality, especially considering the quality of roads in our country.

The Mustang is a thoroughbred muscle car and definitely looks the part. The long straight bonnet along with the LED cluster, the fastback tail, the signature Mustang rear lights – all shout some massive Detroit Muscle. However, the new Mustang is far more civilized than its ancestors. The modernized suspension, better chassis settings and reworked geometry make the new Mustang a more agile and nimble sports car.

The interior is reminiscent of an old school American aircraft. The chunky dials and classic Mustang steering wheel, all add to the Ford’s charm. Since this is a modern Mustang, the car includes Microsoft’s Sync 2 voice activation system along with a large 8-inch color display. The sync software allows for hands-free climate control and media application toggling. The Mustang also features keyless entry and a configurable Ford My Key for custom profiles.

The new Ford Mustang GT is a boon for the Indian muscle car enthusiast. It is the first in 6 generations that Ford have officially brought the Mustang to Indian shores. It will currently be sold only in Delhi and Mumbai. Priced at Rs.65 Lakhs, it is a bit on the higher side, being a CBU unit. We hope that in the future, Ford would commence assembling the Mustang at their Indian plant. Nevertheless, the new Ford Mustang GT packs some proper American Muscle and should thoroughly satisfy your craving for an Aggressive, Sexy and Superfast Muscle Car which will humiliate all other sportscars from Japan and Germany!
