Fiat is a renowned name in the auto sector with its tough cars but sadly has been slow to keep up with the market trends. To overcome that scenario, the company has used their supreme sports Abarth brand that is revamping several Fiat models and this started with their Abarth Punto and the 595 Competizione revealing at the BIC and will be followed up with the Abarth tuned Avventura. Leaving no stone unturned, Fiat is now planning to give the Abarth touch to their Linea sedan.
Abarth being the performance division of Fiat, plans to make their models a bit more exciting and sell and appeal to the enthusiasts more effectively. With Abarth Punto bagging some good points after its launch, the company plan to make the Linea model in the Abarth skin to sweat its rivals with the launch possibly by late 2016. The new Abarth Linea will adopt the same 143 BHP T-Jet 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine as in the Abarth Punto Evo along with some tweaks to other mechanicals.
If Fiat indeed produces the Abarth Linea, the added performance will be countered with upgraded mechanical changes including rear disc brakes, stiffer suspension setup and the ride being lowered by 20 mm along with some design changes. The Fiat badges will be replaced by Abarth trademark Scorpio ones, while also new will be the alloy wheels, Abarth decals among other bits. Hopefully, the Abarth Linea may prove to be more appealing to customers in every aspect that will attract more buyers.
After launching the 595 Competizione last month, Fait India is gearing up to officially introduce the Abarth Punto Evo on 10th October, which will be the most powerful hatchback in the sub Rs. 10 lakh price bracket. The Abarth tuned Punto uses the 1.4-litre T-Jet motor with power bumped to 143 BHP and 200 Nm torque, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The powerful hatchback has also been updated with new cosmetic upgrades that compliment the power very well. We can’t wait to get our hands on this one.
