Las Vegas, with its famous 24×7 parties and casinos; very unusually excited some American Raw Muscle car fans recently, by showcasing the Dodge Challenger GT AWD and disappointed them at the same time by revealing that the car was another concept among the dazzling new Mopar lineup. The Specialty Equipment Manufacturer’s Association (SEMA) show dressed the Challenger in the Destroyer Grey colour scheme and used Header Orange as a perfect highlight, with the hood covered in matte Black.
Under these formidable looks is the Dodge Challenger’s 5.7-litre Hemi V8 engine coupled with its 8-speed transmission. However, it has received the Scat Pack 3 Performance Kit treatment adding 79 BHP and 60 Nm of torque. The Mopar performance CNC-ported cylinder heads, hi-flow manifolds and hi-flow catalysts give the car that extra boost. The exhaust manifolds, exhaust adapter, upgraded gaskets, and Scat Pack 3 badging adds to this as well. An All-Wheel Drive powertrain puts this concept Challenger GT in a whole new league of performance and also offering better traction, making that drag race a perfect sight to watch… Well, and obviously, to drive!
We cannot ignore the custom visual package which consists of new colours, lowered suspension, a wide-body kit and 20-inch wheels along with the new drivetrain. The 5-spoke wheels feature Mopar center caps painted to complement the body and wheels. The exterior body kit enhanced this beautiful sight by incorporating Challenger’s signature styling, with a front chin splitter and rear spoiler, which are both aesthetically pleasing and functional. Additional Mopar modifications dress up the rear, including quad Mopar exhaust tips painted in a powder-coated Satin Black, a Mopar fuel filler door painted Satin Black with a unique Mopar graphic and a concept decklid badge.
Mopar did not stop here. It showed its prowess on the Dodge Charger Deep Stage 3, Dodge Dart GLH Concept, Chrysler 300 Super S, Chrysler 200 S Mopar and the Fiat 500X Chicane at the SEMA show. Dodge Challenger has always raised our eyebrows and stopped our hearts in its tracks. But, unfortunately, the tag ‘concept’ will fall short in doing so for all those eager drivers out there.
