With a long and cherished heritage, the M4 GTS is an aggressive concept that should be a stunner with its host of ultra-modern technology.
The M4 GTS is the pinnacle of BMW’s motorsport capabilities and will soon be the shining star that leads the brand forward. Cars like the GTS are the reason people are excited by the Bavarian manufacturer! The M4 GTS aims to be the ultimate expression of track racing along with real world usability.
Powering this hunkered down M4 is BMW’s 3.0 litre twin turbocharged straight six which features an all new and extremely innovative water-injection system. This system essentially injects water vapour into the intake manifold which cools the air entering the engine. The boffins at BMW claim an 8% increase in power output compared to the standard M4 which would result in a new peak output of 460 HP though the company is yet to announce an official figure. The new injection system helps reducing engine knocking and would also allow BMW to use higher boost pressures along with earlier injection timing.
Design perspective the M4 GTS is much more butch and pumped with its additional aero. The GTS features an adjustable carbon front splitter which is polished with orange accents. A Carbon rear diffuser houses the exhaust system and the car also features a carbon rear wing which intensifies its stance. This BMW definitely looks hungry for smooth flowing asphalt.
BMW has stepped up their game in the ongoing German Lighting war by introducing the all new OLED technology (Organic Light emitting diode) beating Audi and Mercedes to it. These new films of organic material allow for distributed light emission rather than point illumination and also allows BMW some extra flexibility in terms of design.
The BMW M4 GTS will go into production in 2016 and should embody and nurture the tradition set by the likes of the M3 sport evolution, M3 GT, M3 CLS and the older M3 GTS. The GTS with its pedigree and racing credentials should be an insane road legal racer and is truly BMW’s finest work.
