We’ve seen a lot of cars being described as “The ultimate driving experience” or “The ultimate Luxury”, but nothing else proves these phrases true, as much as this car does. The 2016 BMW 7-Series is exemplary in this regard. Luxury, styling and power – The latest iteration of the BMW 7-Series is indeed the most perfect blend of these factors. So naturally, the 7-Series being launched at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo garnered a lot attention from auto enthusiasts, who were queuing up to see the newest offering by the German automaker. Launched at a starting price of Rs. 1.11 crores, this stunner will sell out faster than India vs Pakistan cricket match tickets! Speaking of cricket, who better to launch this luxury vehicle in India than the Master Blaster himself, Mr. Sachin Tendulkar?

There’s only one word to describe the design of the 7-Series – Gorgeous. The front end has sleek streamlined double headlights, with clear fog lamps on the body coloured bumpers. The rear of the car features a sparkling tail lamps cluster. A lot of focus was on weight-saving; a claimed 130 kgs has been shed from its predecessor, thanks to materials made from a mixture of high-strength steel, aluminium, magnesium, plastic and carbon fibre.

When it comes to the engine, the 7-Series offers both diesel and petrol engines. The diesel engine is a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine that is present in the 730Ld, and produces 265 HP and 620 Nm of torque. A more powerful offering is the 4.4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine present in the two variants of 750Li, which gives an output of 450 HP and 650 Nm of torque. The engines of all the 7-Series models are mated to six-speed automatic transmission, which is really smooth to operate.

The reason why the world has been blessed by the existence of the 7-series, is the amount of luxury it has to offer! In this department, this car can rival any luxury car you put in front of it. This five-seater Luxury Limo is extremely comfortable, luxurious and spacious. Overall, the car gives you a surreal experience, right since the time you step into it. The seats are upholstered in the finest of leather, that creates a fantastic ambience throughout the ride. Equipped with tilt/slide opened sunroof, it provides you with more than one option for a delightful driving experience, as per your choice. An upgraded 5.0-inch iDrive system with touchscreen and gesture control is present. The instrument console is all new and gets 3D graphics and a Heads-Up Display unit. The new centre console incorporates a smartphone holder and wireless charging is also provided for our battery starved smartphones!

The 7-Series also comes with Ambient Lighting, which provides indirect illumination in various parts of the car’s interior such as the rear of the instrument panel, door beltlines, map pockets, front seatbacks and footwells. There are six different color options, and are controllable through the iDrive system. A new 7-inch tablet is present at the rear that allows the passenger to control several features of the car with just a touch on the screen. So, 2 screens in total, you’re thinking, right? That’s not it. The key fob that also gets a display screen. Talk about innovation! If you love to relax, the seats also get massage and ventilation function for enhanced cabin comfort. If you don’t and would rather play some bangers, a 1400 Watt Bowers & Wilkins system with 16 speakers should keep you happy!

As powerful as it is luxurious, BMW has come up with the perfect package with the 2016 7-Series. Whether you desire smooth driving, comfortable cruising or strong engine performance – The 7-Series delivers in all aspects.
