The Mulsanne stretched to perfection – Say hello to the new Bentley Mulsanne EWB

Bentley showcased the latest range of its flagship Mulsanne at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, and grabbed all the eyeballs! This Mulsanne lineup features 3 heavyweights – The basic Mulsanne, an all-new Mulsanne Extended WheelBase (EWB) model, and the Mulsanne Speed, that is designed for optimum performance. The new Mulsanne range reaches greater heights of luxury and performance and sets a new benchmark for rear-seat passenger comfort.

Wolfgang Dürheimer, Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors, said: “The Mulsanne is the epitome of Bentley’s DNA – exquisite, individual and powerful. It defines luxury in the automotive world and offers a unique Bentley blend of luxury and performance. The Mulsanne, with its understated elegance and sporting purpose, remains the consummate luxury limousine.” Truer words have never been said!

There have been minute changes all over this range, including style revisions, such as a more pronounced, 80mm wider front grille. An updated chassis is offered, in order to perfect your riding experience. The EWB model adds 250mm to its wheelbase, which basically creates Business-class Jet plane seats, along with electronic headrests, which extend outwards and are embedded at the base of the two individual rear seats.

Segregating the two rear seats is a console with such a classy finish that it embodies a brand as premium as Bentley. This console isn’t there just to please your eyes though; it houses pen holders, cup holders, USB ports and a glass covered storage packet. A new touchscreen infotainment system is among the technological offerings, thanks to the latest advances of Bentley’s parent group, VW. Does it get any more luxurious than this?

The Mulsanne EWB is not just a luxury sedan, but is also an absolute monster under the hood. It boasts of a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that pumps out an astonishing 505 HP and 1020 Nm of torque. Yes, you read that right! Hungry for more? Then the Mulsanne Speed is for you – It churns out a mammoth 530 HP and 1100 Nm of torque, while 0-100 kmph is achieved in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 306 kmph. See, we told you, it’s not just another luxury sedan!

Having set the temperatures soaring at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Bentley Mulsanne should be available to its customers by summer 2016. Expected price is at least £230,000 for the Bentley Mulsanne and £250,000 for the EWB and Speed. Can you really complain? The absolute performance and luxury on offer makes this price feel like peanuts!
