The Bentley stables are renowned for their luxurious chariots and rustic British design. The Bentayga embodies these principles, even though it may seem an odd decision from Bentley to build an all-out Sports utility machine. You see, in the modern luxury car market, a large chunk is controlled by SUVs and Bentley wants a taste of that action, but of course in their own style.
The Bentayga is powered by VWs 6-litre W12 motor pumping 600 HP making it unofficially the fastest sports ultility vehicle, the 600 horses propel the Bentley to 100kmph in 4 seconds flat and an alleged top speed of 300kmph. Now in terms of design the Bentayga looks like a Continental GT on stills. The chassis of course is based on its close relatives, the Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7 but since this is a Bentley, the Bentayga comes with a completely redone chassis with fresh suspension settings along with air suspension as standard to make sure the ride as plush as possible. The interiors too are a standard Bentley affair with no stone unturned in terms of sheer luxury. The Bentayga comes with a custom solid gold clock manufactured by luxury swiss brand Breitling. At the launch, the Bentayga would be available as a four or five seater and later should see an optional seven seater as well. A diesel as well as a plugin hybrid are in the pipelines for the greener customers.
The Bentayga is extravagance at its peak. With the launch of Rolls-Royce’s ultra-luxury SUV still some distance away, Bentley has entered these unchartered waters quite early. So when the time comes and you’re bored of your luxurious Range Rover, The Bentley Bentayga should satisfy your appetite.
