The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante is the topless sister to the gorgeous Vanquish Zagato that captured our hearts earlier this year.
The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato has gone and lost its double bubble roof because it’s fashionable to do so these days. Unveiled at the prestigious Pebble Beach Show, the Zagato Volante hopes to add a hint of fresh air to the gorgeous Zagato creation.
Styling is highly similar to the hard top and the Volante is almost identical in most elements. The DRL setup, the Z-mesh front grille, the intricate tail lamp and the carbon fibre skirting across the car all find its way to the Volante. As far as we can tell, the double roofline is the only real missing element. Replacing it is a fabric roof that should keep the elements at bay.
The Zagato hasn’t lost any of its aggressive charm, thanks to its massive front and rear carbon splitters that add a sense of racing purposefulness although this is a strict GT car. The engine on the Volante would be the same V12 motor and not too many surprises there.
The interior features a new lighter tan color scheme to match the new bronze anodised detailing. The actual interior layout itself remains the same. The new Volante has the same coach-built charm of the hard top and we are thoroughly pleased.
Aston Martin will be making a limited production run of 99 cars of the Volante, just like the hard top. If you’ve missed out on the hard top Zagato, this is a great opportunity to be a part of the Aston Martin Zagato family (if you have half a million pounds to spare, that is).
