The all-new Jaguar XF has finally reached India and has been engineered to bring you satisfaction. How alive are you?
Jaguar India has launched the new XF at an interesting price tag of Rs 49.50 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new XF will also debut Jaguar’s brand new Ingenium 2.0-litre diesel motor in India. It is capable of 177 HP and 430 Nm of torque. There would also be a 2.0-litre petrol motor available, that produces 237 HP and 340 Nm of torque on tap. Both motors would be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Jaguar claims that the new diesel XF will complete the sprint to a 100 kph in 8.1 seconds while the petrol-powered car takes 7 seconds.
The improved performance is thanks to a lighter structure used in the new XF. This new Jaguar’s construction features 70% aluminium, thus dropping the weight by a staggering 190 kg compared to its predecessor. The wheelbase has been increased by 51 mm thus allowing for more interior space and legroom. Jaguar claims that the new XF has an ideal 50:50 weight distribution that strikes the perfect balance of a comfortable ride and handling.
Design elements on the new Jaguar XF are fresh and updated. The headlamps feature LEDs and DRLs that are integrated into the housing. The tail lamps are reminiscent of the Jaguar F-type, and look sexy and sophisticated. The saloon’s silhouette looks sleeker and has a better stance thanks to its lowered height and reduced ground clearance.
Jaguar is offering the new XF in three trims. The standard Pure trim, the mid-range Prestige trim and the top of the line Portfolio trim. The new car also features the ‘Jaguar Drive Control’ that hosts multiple drive modes based on the environment. The 4 modes available would be Standard, Eco, Dynamic and Rain/Snow/Ice. Definitely gives this new XF some extra edge over its versatility.
Touch-screen lovers, lo and behold, the makers at jaguar have heard you! A new, larger unit with the name InControl Touch Pro debuts on the new XF, featuring a 10.2-inch screen. It boasts faster-acting Solid-State Drive (SSD) map storage, a quad-core processor, and internet-based features. Road trippers don’t worry if the GPS fails on you. An interactive functionality that can pinpoint the car’s position when a GPS signal is unavailable has been integrated into the InControl.
Although many Jaguar lovers haven’t received the new XF with open arms, the new Jaguar XF will give a strong fight to the likes of Audi A6, BMW 5-series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. With prices starting at Rs 49.50 Lakh, the all-new Jaguar XF has a monumental task of fighting the Germans. And we feel that the British might be a step ahead this time!
