Sharper, sleeker and sophisticated, Audi India has officially launched the 2015 A6 facelift in the country priced at Rs. 49.5 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). In an interesting digital only event, the company chose to launch its model via a video presentation on Whatsapp, keeping up with the modern times much to our liking. Keeping things futuristic, Audi chooses to call the newest A6 as ‘A6 Matrix’ due to the inclusion of the show-stopping Matrix LED lights technology (19 LEDs per headlight) that first debuted on the flagship A8 and have now made their way onto the mid-size luxury saloon.
In addition to the Matrix headlamps, the 2015 Audi A6 Matrix also receives revised styling that looks edgier than before with a slightly larger front grille and revised bumpers at the front rear. The headlight design is sleeker now and the Matrix lamps are hard to miss ensuring that heads are turned for that second look. The overall sihouette is the same though and the A6 facelift does not get any changes in dimensions. The sedan also defines its edgier styling with Audi’s dynamic turn indicators, and new LED tail lights.
Inside the cabin, the Audi A6 Matrix appears largely the same as the old model, but there is more to offer now with the inclusion of features like an updated infotainment system with handwriting recognition, voice activation and remote control for the rear occupants. The A6 Matrix also gets four-zone climate control for individual temperature preferences and new front passenger seat that can be electrically adjustable from the rear. Then you have the 8-inch retractable display unit for the infotainment system while a 600 watt BOSE surround sound speakers are there to play jazz, rock and funk. Adding that cherry on this cake is the new Milano leather finished in beige, completing the perfect premium cabin.
Power on the 2015 Audi A6 facelift comes from the redeveloped 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine that now pushes out 190 HP of power, which is a good 7 percent over the outgoing model. Audi also claims that the new engine improves the fuel efficiency of the car by 5 percent. The upgraded engine now comes paired to a 7-speed S-Tronic automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels and is a lot more responsive compared oth to the older CVT unit. Safety tech is loaded on this German with 8 airbags, out of which 2 are dedicated for the rear passengers.
