Within just two months of Volvo unveiling its premium SUV XC90 in India, the Swedish automaker has received a really good response for the new flagship SUV with a whopping 266 units pre-booked. The automaker has received a total order of 57,000 units globally and Volvo’s Torslanda plant located in Gothenburg, Sweden has pulled up its socks starting the third production shift so that they can fulfill the customer demands on time. Deliveries in India will start later this month.
The global booking record clearly shows that 76 percent customers have opted for the top-end Inscription variant. The Inscription package is said to be the most supremely designed for customers who wish to attain a pure luxurious experience with state-of-the-art features. The new XC90 is the first model based on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) and has opened the gates of a new phase in the company’s history that shows their futuristic design and innovations.
Volvo Auto entered India in 2007 and gave been working very hard to establish itself in the country.

With such a positive response from customers, Volvo is sure to make some good sales and gain some market presence in the luxury space against the Germans.
