2015 BMW X3 xDrive30d M Sport Price (ex-showroom, Delhi) – Rs. 59,90,000/-
The people of Bavaria understand power very well, and how to make the optimum use of it. As much fun as their sedans are, the new SUV range is equally entertaining, offering the driving performance similar to a sedan. So, how do you make a good package better? By adding some ‘M’ touch of course; and that is what BMW has done by introducing the M Sport package for the 2015 X3 xDrive30d in the country.
Lending a distinctive sporty touch to the 2015 BMW X3, the M Sport package comes with the M Aerodynamic package with front and rear bumpers painted in the body colour. The diffuser, side sills with additional lighting are finished in a dark shadow metallic shade and help maximise the SUV’s road presence. The sporty appearance is further amplified by the “M” logo on the sides, while the trim strips, side frames, window recess finishers and exterior mirror base and frame gets a supremely finish in high-gloss black.
Move inside the cabin, and the M touch has only been extended further. The BMW X3 xDrive30d gets new sport seats upholstered in fabric or leather and are finished in Pearlpoint Anthracite for lateral support, providing great comfort. The M touches are then visible in the cabin with the M steering wheel, door sill finishers and the BMW individual headliner finished in Anthracite shade. There is also a panoramic sunroof added by the M Sport package that will give the idea view under a starry night out in the camp.
Complimenting the M Sport package, the BMW X3 features a host of tech wizardry inside, including the next generation BMW iDrive with touch controller, a 25.9 cm colour display unit for BMW Navigation Professional with integrated GPS and 3D maps. The unit also supports the Harman Kardon premium surround system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity to satiate your needs for everything from Iron Maiden to Taylor Swift. Also offered as standard is Park Distance Control (PDC) at the rear and front along with a rear view camera.
Moving outside for a few minutes, pop up the hood and you will find a 3.0-litre in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine resting calmly waiting to be revved. This unit makes 258 HP of power and 560 Nm of torque with power being sent to the all four wheels via an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission. No slouch despite its size, the 2015 BMW X3 is capable of doing the 0-100 kmph in just 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 232 kmph.
There is also cruise control available to ensure smoother long journeys. Lastly, the new BMW X3 xDrive30d M Sport also features the BMW Driving Experience Control switch that enables the driver to choose between different driving modes to suit the driving conditions and one can select between – Comfort, ECO PRO, Sport and Sport+ driving modes. A rival to the Audi Q5 and the Mercedes M-Class, the X3 is the newest in the lot at present and the M Sport package definitely adds to the desirability quotient further.
