If you are rich and affluent and have a sense of style to your name, then BMW India has introduced something with equal panache called the 6-Series Gran Coupe facelift in the country with prices starting at Rs. 1.14 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi). With a host of cosmetic upgrades for the 2015 model year, the new 6-Series Gran Coupe gets additional new features inside the cabin that compliment the luxurious four-door coupe. No wonder then BMW chose to launch the Gran Coupe at India Bridal Fashion Week in Delhi.

Getting started with the exterior upgrades, the 2015 BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe facelift has been bestowed with a larger grille that now sports 9 slats and has an imposing presence. The headlights are now a tad but sleeker over its predecessor and gets adaptive LED lights as standard. The side fascia continues to remain the same with the sloping roofline, frameless doors and a clean yet sharp lines but does get new 20-inch alloy wheels and more aerodynamics ORVMs. The rear retains its strong profile and has been tweaked for a sharper and fresher appeal over the existing version. Looks good, you bet!

Moving inside the cabin and the 2015 BMW 6-Series facelift has retained the existing dashboard setup but features a new dual-tone leather upholstery. Improving material quality further, the 2015 Gran Coupe now features a new Heads up Display and also gets an updated iDrive touch controller, Connected Drive, Navigation Professional, automatic rain sensing wipers, Nappa leather covered seats and a lot more. Safety features include Attentiveness Assist, ABS, Brake Assist, CBC, DSC, DTC, Isofix mounting and a plethora of other electronic aids.

Things under the hood continue to come from the same 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder diesel engine which produces a healthy 313 PS of power at 4400 RPM and a whopping peak torque of 630 Nm between 1500-2500 RPM, and is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. The 6er Gran Coupe is capable of doing the 0-100 kmph sprint in 5.2 seconds and has an electronically-limited top speed of 250 kmph. The Bavarian xDrive All-Wheel Drive system is offered as standard on the four-door coupe.

Keeping the exteriors up to date, BMW is offering the 6-Series Gran Coupe in 5 metallic shades – Mediterranean Blue, Glacier Silver, Cashmere Silver, Jatoba, and Melbourne Red. The new 6-Series is available in two variants Eminence as well as Pure Experience and competes against the equally gorgeous Mercedes CLS and Audi A7 in the segment. BMW continues to bring the 6-Series via the CBU route and is offering the model in two variants.
