The 1970s is back. Well, not all of it. The custom 1970 Chevrolet Camaro RS is back and boy does it look stunning. We car enthusiasts ask for nothing more. Just when the era of high-end performance cars dawned upon us, this classic piece of machinery has swayed our attention to the ever cool hot rods at the 2015 SEMA in Las Vegas. The muscle car has been redone and custom made to offer performance in a golden platter.
The 6.2-litre V8 powerhouse based on the based on the generation V small block architecture was unveiled at the SEMA 2015 show in Las Vegas, this week. The LT4 is claimed to be one of the most powerful engines ever produced. The 650 HP of power and 881 Nm produced by the LT4 just does that. All said and done, it does not stop here; a T-56 Super Magnum six-speed manual gearbox is used to control the speed, which go together like pizza and cheese. The LT4 boasts more about its superiority by using titanium intake valves and forged aluminium pistons, assuring performance.
Inside the cabin, the 1970 Chevrolet Camaro RS gets a black, stock-appearing cabin featuring custom-trimmed seats from a third-generation Camaro and a custom instrument cluster with new gauges that work with the powertrain’s electronic systems. The instrument panel itself is wrapped in custom-trimmed leather and you get a six-point roll cage for added protection.
Not to mention the power steering system and 19-inch polished aluminium wheels, that you get on the Camaro RS with the Hyper Blue Metallic paint, which is one of the colours offered on the sixth-generation Chevy babies. And of course, built in LED lights, to keep up with the 21st century! The starting price is $15,625 (or Rs. 10.35 lakhs), which is quite reasonable, considering what it offers.
